Zinc

Zinc is an essential metal for humans, but excessive amounts can cause health effects. It is naturally occurring but usually becomes an issue when discharged from industrial processes into natural water. As such, a manufacturer may have a zinc discharge consent to which they need to comply.

Zinc is typically measured colourmetrically using the Zincon method which is suitable for low level detection in water.
