Chlorine
Typically the DPD method is the standard method for measuring Free and Total Chlorine concentration in water.
The standard procedure involves the creation of a complex between chlorine and DPD (N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine), with subsequent colorimetric measurement. This complex, known as a Wurster Dye, undergoes a distinctive transformation from a colorless state to a vivid pink hue.
