Barium

Barium is a reactive metal never found in the environment in its elemental form.

Online barium monitors can determine the barium content in natural water sources such as groundwater but also in wastewater such as that produced in the oil and gas industry and the semiconductor industry.

Barium can be determined using either an ion selective electrode approach or via a turbimetric measurement.

Barium Chloride reacts with sulphate to form the white insoluble Barium Sulphate. This is then measured turbidimetrically and the result proportional to the Sulphate concentration.
